Yvonne Hicks, Senior Land Person

Yvonne was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. In March 1999 she decided to leave her profession in retail management to join Maverick Petroleum, Inc. As a retail manager, she worked closely with the public, so transitioning into the Oil and Gas industry was easy because the relationships developed between Lessors and Clients is very similar to those relationships between business associates and customers in the retail industry. Since joining Maverick Petroleum, Inc., she has developed invaluable skills and experience in the oil and gas industry. As a Professional Landman, Yvonne wears many hats; she is a project manager for a number of Oil and Gas plays and works closely with our clients to ensure a successful program, often spending one on one time with both clients and mineral owners. She has also worked on and led multiple 3D Seismic Permitting Prospects. In addition to her many responsibilities at Maverick Petroleum, Inc., she is also a member of Bakersfield Association of Professional Landmen (BAPL), Los Angeles Association of Professional Landmen (LAAPL), and American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL). She served as Treasurer (2008-2009, 2011-2012, 2013-2014), Secretary (2009-2010) and President (2010-2011) for BAPL. In October of 2010, she was the Chairperson for the Annual West Coast Professional Landmen’s Institute in Shell Beach, CA. Additionally, she volunteers every year at the annual BAPL Charity Golf Tournament. The proceeds from this tournament benefit the Bakersfield Homeless Center. Working for Maverick Petroleum, Inc. has been a fulfilling occupation for Yvonne and she looks forward to many more years here, learning and experiencing all the different facets this business has to offer.
